When it’s time!

I was at an event recently when I noticed a young girl—probably around 11—gracefully strutting toward her mum. As I watched her, I could tell she was imitating someone she admired—maybe her mum, or someone else she looks up to.

That simple moment took me right back to my own childhood.

I was always a girly girl, and both my mum and godmother indulged me. But looking back, I realize there was always a threshold—a line they held gently but firmly. My mum would take me for pedicures and self-care routines. In my young heart, that meant I could have anything I wanted. I felt spoiled in the best way.

But still, there were rules.
We weren’t allowed to perm our hair before university. No fake nails either. The most we could do—me and the other girls my mum raised—was enjoy a pedicure and a swipe of regular nail polish. I didn’t really realize she was holding a boundary. It finally dawned on me when I once asked her for a handbag I absolutely loved. Her response?
“When you’re big, you’ll do big girl things and you’ll use your own money.”

That line stuck with me.
It shifted something. I realized I didn’t need to act grown-up. I just needed to be present and content with where I was. And honestly? That mindset has guided me ever since. It taught me to trust timing. To embrace each season for what it is.

And yes, you bet I was proud when I finally started doing big girl things with my own money—on my own terms. 😁(Still growing with the big girl things!)

So darling, be content where you are.
Your moment for the big things will come—no delay, no rush, just right on time.

With babyish grown-up smiles,
